The Cardinals took a bit of a downturn in 2016. Can they reverse that with this pick, we wonder?
2016 Record: 7-8-1
What went right in 2016? Bruce Arians‘ team will be disappointed, as a season which promised much still finished half a win short of 0.500. The defense was as good as ever, second best in the NFL, whilst the offense also finished in the top ten. Their downfall was some overly aggressive playcalling, individual unforced errors and an inability to kill games off.
And what went wrong? See above. It is hard to pinpoint any one specific failure other than the overall problems that we’ve highlighted.
What do they need? Quarterback, Wide Receiver, Defensive Back
Who will they pick? With a number of good, developmental, quarterbacks in the Draft, this is an ideal time to get Carson Palmer‘s replacement. Even at this stage three of the best – Deshaun Watson, Mitchell Trubisky and Pat Mahomes – could be off the board. If not, they should grab whichever is available (and in that order). Otherwise, Deshone Kizer, the Notre Dame quarterback, will be their best bet.
